One on One Script

A copyable meeting agenda for recurring 1:1s, plus a script for running the conversation itself. Use either on its own, or both together.

One-on-One Conversation Script

Use this as a starting point, not something to read verbatim. Say it in your own words, but keep the order and the directness.

Opening

"What's top of mind for you this week, doesn't have to be work."

Start with them, not your list.

Follow up on last time

"Last time you mentioned [X], where did that land?"

Shows you were listening and builds accountability without turning into a status update.

Clear the path

"What's in your way right now that I could remove?"

This is the one question most 1:1s skip entirely.

Close

"Anything you want to raise that we haven't gotten to?"

Leave room in every 1:1 for what you didn't think to ask about.
